Hydra

Hydra was our first heavyweight. Having appeared in the Robot Wars series and a number of Live events Hydra had been sitting in Dennis Leadbeater’s garage for few years so he decide to sell it. Since we bought it we have made numerous improvements with new electrics, pneumatics and paint job. This has been carried out without any significant changes to the main frame and drive system.

Our First Event With Hydra - Colchester 2008

Our first event with Hydra was Colchester 2008. It was a great event but having only picked up Hydra the day before we had no idea how Hydra worked or how it was wired. It meant we ended up with a blown speed controller, weapons not working in a few fights. All in all it was a great event for us and we learned a lot.
